Everyone wants to look like a rock star, but what exactly does that mean? There really isn’t one look that screams “rocker;” looking like a rock star has as much to do with your attitude and lifestyle as what you wear.
Rockers constantly push boundaries and break rules, and that can’t always be conveyed with a simple look. A few changes to your wardrobe and your hairstyle might help that, though. Here are some things you can try if you really want to look like you rock.
Get In Your Groove
First of all, you need to do some research and find a rock star style that works for you. Rock is diverse enough to include several musical styles, and each style seems to have a look that goes with it. Grunge rockers might wear faded jeans and flannel, glam rockers might wear something flashier and more flamboyant, and punk rockers might wear spiked bracelets and have a lot of piercings. It’s pretty diverse, which is why you might be better off seeing a band you like and looking at how others dress.
Tune Your Look
Once you’ve decided on a look that you like, it’s time to put it together. Start with some vintage band t-shirts of bands you know (expect to be able to talk about at least a few of a band’s songs if you’re going to sport their logo) along with some cool shoes. Chucks, Vans, cowboy boots and work boots can all give off a rock star vibe, especially if they’re slightly scuffed and look like they’ve been worn to some shows.
Everything you buy beyond that will depend on what kind of rock star look you’re going for. Typical rocker clothing might include leather jackets, ripped denim jeans, and velvet blazers if you’re going for a glam rock look. Top it all off with some accessories like chains, studded leather belts, an awesome Rock N’ Roll handbag bracelets or anything else that your favorite rock star might wear or accessorize with.
Wear It Like You Mean It
The most important part of looking like a rock star is your attitude. Whatever you wear should be worn with confidence. You’re going to stand out even if you’re with a bunch of other rockers, so wear your new look with pride.
