In August 2013 Sylvia Lee wrote about me for ZRockR Magazine, and she called me “an English rockin’ rose transplanted in the desert who has taken root, growing wild and is blooming!” I still smile at that line.

A big year in Vegas

• The Hard Rock Hotel. My pieces were in the Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas clothing store. That spring, during Def Leppard’s residency there, I was in the shop with my shirts and handbags before most of the shows, posing with fans and hearing which retired designs they’d love back.
• Zappos. I was listed on Zappos’ Emerging Designers roster.
• The Stitch Factory. I was part of the first Speaker Series at The Stitch Factory downtown, where I sometimes worked alongside other independent designers.

Sylvia also noticed the little things I love doing, like adding a guitar charm or a thank-you note to every package. ICJUK was, and is, a one-woman operation, and “Every stitch counts.”
