From years of text messages to one home for custom work

For years, every custom piece I made started the same way: a text message. Then another, and another. Photos of a jacket, a favourite band, a colour swatch, a “what if we added crystals here?” Some of my most treasured pieces came out of those long conversations, but ideas, sizes and pictures ended up scattered across years of messages.

So now there’s one dedicated place to start your custom piece: my Custom Orders page. It brings everything together in one spot. You can see pieces I’ve made for clients, tell me your idea, share your style and your colours, and send it all to me at once.

Nothing else changes. It still comes straight to me, and you still deal with me personally from the first idea to the final stitch. It’s simply easier for both of us to get your piece started.

I get asked all the time who looks after orders at ICJUK, and the answer always makes people smile. There’s no customer service department here. When you speak to ICJUK, you speak to me, Claire Jane.

A one-woman business

ICJUK has always been just me. Since I made my first feathered handbags in 2009, I’ve created every piece of art myself, from the first sketch to the final stitch. My wearable art business has grown a lot over the years, but that part has never changed, and I wouldn’t want it to.

My speciality is really in custom work

If I had to name the thing I love most, it’s custom work. Making something for one person, to match their style or their colours, is where I’m happiest. You might bring me a favourite band, a colour you always wear, a jacket you want to bring back to life, or a gift for someone you love. We talk it through together, and I make it for you, and only you.

Because I’m the one making it, nothing gets lost in translation. The person you describe your idea to is the person whose hands create it.

A lot of my custom pieces are private and exclusive to my clients, so the ones you see here are only a small part of what I’ve created over the years.
